individuals were free to do whatever they wanted. To what extent do you agree or

disagree?　　思路解析：　　应该遵守：法律和法规是社会有序运行的前提，它们规范了人们的行为和思想，让人们的活动能限制在一个安全的，合法的范围。相反，一旦人们恣意妄为地来忽略这些法律的话，整个社会会陷入混乱。举例，如果交通法规不被遵守，则会出现大量的车祸。如果刑法不被遵守的话，则会出现大量的社会犯罪。　　不应该遵守：对于那些不公正的法律，人们应该被授予足够的自由来进行对抗。举例，如果美国今天仍然保留着奴隶法案的话，则今天的美国黑人将处境悲惨，没有教育，医疗，工作和投票的权利。可以看到，这样的法律必将引发来自黑人的愤怒，反抗，甚至是战争。　　参考范文：　　Nowadays, there is an assertion that the freedom of citizens should be

limited; otherwise it might harm the social laws and justice system, thus making

our society unstable. Personally, this view is psychologically right, while it

overlooks the importance of fighting against the unfair laws freely.　　Firstly, there is no doubt that obeying social rules and laws is the

fundamental obligation for all individuals, for the reason that they serve as a

key function of ensuring our society running on the right track. Obviously,

these regulations define the borders between the right and the wrong, the social

ethics and day-to-day conduct standards, all of which can instruct and regulate

citizens to act and think in a lawful, polite and safe way. Otherwise, the

ignorance of these regulations, or so-called “an absolute freedom”, will trap

our society into chaos and even malfunction. For example, if the traffic laws

were disrespected, it is expected that all streets and highways will be full of

congestions and car crashes caused by wrongdoings in driving like blind over

speed or overtaking. Similarly, if the criminal law were absent, then there will

be no concern of punishments for committing crimes. Consequently, illegal

activities including thefts, robberies, arson, rapes, vandalism and murders will

be overwhelming, which will not only place the poverties and lives of the public

in the danger, but also destroy today’s civilization in a long term.　　However, there is always a justification that people should be allowed to

freely question and topple those unfair laws that are the barriers of democracy

development. In history, the typical example is the slavery law in America that

defined African-Americans as second-class citizens and deprived their rights of

public education, health care and vote. If this evil law were just followed,

instead of being eradicated through the pursuit of human freedom, we now can

predict clearly that current the community of America would be still full of

inequity, discrimination, and massive social disorder caused by conflicts

between the black and white.　　All in all, I agree that it is very necessary to limit the freedom of the

public by confining their behaviors in the bounds of social regulation and laws,

which is the pre-condition of social democracy and stability. However, when it

Difference Between Law and Ethics

In simple terms, the law may be understood as the systematic set of universally accepted rules and regulation created by an appropriate authority such as government, which may be regional, national, international, etc. It is used to govern the action and behavior of the members and can be enforced, by imposing penalties.

Many times the term law is juxtaposed with the term ethics, but there is a difference, as ethics are the principles that guide a person or society, created to decide what is good or bad, right or wrong, in a given situation. It regulates a person’s behavior or conduct and helps an individual in living a good life, by applying the moral rules and guidelines.

For a layman, these two terms are same, but the fact is that there is a difference between law and ethics. Read the article carefully, to overcome your ambiguities.

Definition of Law

The law is made by the judicial system of the country. Every person in the country is bound to follow the law. It clearly defines what a person must or must not do. So, in the case of the breach of law may result in the punishment or penalty or sometimes both.

Definition of Ethics

By ethics, we mean that branch of moral philosophy that guides people about what is good or bad. It is a collection of fundamental concepts and principles of an ideal human character. The principles help us in making decisions regarding, what is right or wrong. It informs us about how to act in a particular situation and make a judgment to make better choices for ourselves.

Ethics are the code of conduct agreed and adopted by the people. It sets a standard of how a person should live and interact with other people.

The major differences between law and ethics are mentioned below:

The law is defined as the systematic body of rules that governs the whole society and the actions of its individual members. Ethics means the science of a standard human conduct.

The law consists of a set of rules and regulations, whereas Ethics comprises of guidelines and principles that inform people about how to live or how to behave in a particular situation.

The law is created by the Government, which may be local, regional, national or international. On the other hand, ethics are governed by an individual, legal or professional norms, i.e. workplace ethics, environmental ethics and so on.

The law is expressed in the constitution in a written form. As opposed to ethics, it cannot be found in writing form.

The breach of law may result in punishment or penalty, or both which is not in the case of breach of ethics.

The objective of the law is to maintain social order and peace within the nation and protection to all the citizens. Unlike, ethics that are the code of conduct that helps a person to decide what is right or wrong and how to act.

The law creates a legal binding, but ethics has no such binding on the people.

Conclusion

Law and ethics are different in a manner that what a person must do and what a person should do. The former is universally accepted while the latter is ideal human conduct, agreed upon by most of the people. Although, both the law and ethics are made in alignment so that they do not contradict each other. Both go side by side, as they provide how to act in a particular manner. Every person is equal in the eyes of law and ethics, i.e. nobody is superior or inferior. Further, these two allow a person to think freely and choose.

观点类大作文，社会类话题Today's society is based on laws and rules. It can't function well if individuals are free to do whatever they want. To what extent do you agree or disagree?题目大意如今的社会是基于法律和法规。如果人们可以自由做任何想做的事情，社会就不会很好地运转。你在多大程度上同意或不同意。思路解析这是一道观点类大作文，题目不难，我们建议同学采用同意的观点切入会更好写。（说实话……老师和月半鸭没怎么想出反对的切入点，如果有学生愿意尝试可以评论区留言）此外，一直关注我们的小考鸭是否还记得，12月3日大陆考题：遵循传统 vs 个性自由，这两题都属于同一个话题类型。但细节上并不一样。有兴趣的同学可以在历史记录中看下那篇范文解析。现代社会能够顺利有序的运作，具体体现在每个人都能够在一个合理的框架中，完成自己的任务产生价值，同时他自身的利益也能得到保障。而这个保障这个框架合理的便是法律法规，它的主要作用可以体现在两个基本方面。一是减少纠纷，当两个人因为某件事（小到交通法规，大到资产分配）产生纠纷时，法律法规可以明确规定应该如何解决，从而避免双方耗费更多时间甚至使用来解决矛盾。二是保障个人利益不受侵犯。一个社会需要有序运行，必然需要个人利益能够获得保障，保障手段包括警示潜在的侵犯行为以及对已经侵犯他人利益的人做出相应的处罚。如果每个人都能做自己想做的事情，那么显而易见的坏处就是他为了更方便的获利，可能会伤害他人或者侵犯他人利益。比如开车不遵守交通规则超速开车或闯红灯，可能会危害行人的生命；为了能更方便的获取财产，可能就会去偷盗或抢劫别人的财物。而当这些手段还无法受到惩罚时，就会吸引更多人去做，社会秩序也会崩塌。提纲高分范文示例Rules and laws have become an indispensable part of society. Some people believe citizens should not be restricted by them. Personally, I tend to hold a totally different opinion.A society could fall into complete chaos without laws and regulations. To begin with, our society would run on the right track by adopting effective laws. Since various resources are limited, people may have conflicts with others in order to obtain property. Therefore, the explicit information provided by laws and rules could identify the ownership, which would dramatically reduce the disputes among the public. In addition, laws and regulations could impose the deterrent effect on the public. For example, if people are fully aware of the consequences of disobeying the traffic rules, they are less likely to drive overspeed. In contrast, the absence of laws could result in the malfunction of transport system, which pose a threat not only to drivers on the road, but also the innocent pedestrians.However，a well-function society could not merely rely on the judicial system, and these regulations should be a means rather than the end. This is because that people may still do something harmful to the society without committing a crime or violating a law. Some people may take the advantages of loopholes of laws to do something only for their own benefits. Reason: Laws cannot change what is in people’s hearts or minds.Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim and the reason on which that claim is based. With the rapid development of technology and burgeoning population, many social problems rise in the modern society. The topic of how to efficiently solve these problems causes heated debate. Some people insist that since laws cannot change what’s in people’s hearts and minds, problems of modern society cannot be solved by laws and legal system. From my perspective, even though these insisters’ reason tells the truth, their claim inferred from this reason is still biased and inaccurate because laws and the legal system actually play a crucial role in our social regulation and successfully solve many social issues. The reason stating that laws cannot change what is in people’s hearts and minds is absolutely convincing. People’s opinion is determined by their education from schools, guidances from their parents, influences from friends and even effects from social medias. Certainly, strict laws publishing by the government are impossible to change people’s opinion, which is determined by many other factors in their lives. Unfortunately, there exists many examples who falsely consider laws are dehumanizing and illogical, and then insist their own ideas to betray the national law. Eventually, these people are all sent to the jail. However, by analyzing the relationship between the reason and the claim, we have to aware that the inference saying many problems of modern society cannot be solved by laws and the legal system is inaccurate. Even though laws are lack of the ability to completely change people’s minds, laws and the legal system can efficiently set social moral standard, restrict people’s behavior, and ensure fairness to protect people’s rights. Otherwise, without the restrain set by laws and the legal system, our society may fall into chaos. For example, in war zone without the control of government’s legal system, everyone behaves in their own ways in order to satisfy their selfish desire. It will put the public’s safety in danger. Image if efficient laws can be published, the most important social problem in these war zones will be solved: people’s safety will be secured, and their basic human rights will be protected. Consequently, laws and the legal system actually plays an important role in solving social problems. Admittedly, there exists a part of social problems, such as people’s new concern towards equality, cannot simply solved by laws and the legal system, especially when the public’s minds are improved from the influence of social development. However, as laws and the legal system are set by the government according to the public’s opinion, they certainly can satisfy most people. Additionally, there are some alternatives that laws and the legal system can take to more efficiently solve social problems, such as taking annual survey to listen to people’s new ideas. To what extent do you agree or disagree? 思路解析：应该遵守：法律和法规是社会有序运行的前提，它们规范了人们的行为和思想，让人们的活动能限制在一个安全的，合法的范围。相反，一旦人们恣意妄为地来忽略这些法律的话，整个社会会陷入混乱。举例，如果交通法规不被遵守，则会出现大量的车祸。如果刑法不被遵守的话，则会出现大量的社会犯罪。不应该遵守：对于那些不公正的法律，人们应该被授予足够的自由来进行对抗。举例，如果美国今天仍然保留着奴隶法案的话，则今天的美国黑人将处境悲惨，没有教育，医疗，工作和投票的权利。可以看到，这样的法律必将引发来自黑人的愤怒，反抗，甚至是战争。参考范文： Nowadays, there is an assertion that the freedom of citizens should be limited; otherwise it might harm the social laws and justice system, thus making our society unstable. Personally, this view is psychologically right, while it overlooks the importance of fighting against the unfair laws freely. Firstly, there is no doubt that obeying social rules and laws is the fundamental obligation for all individuals, for the reason that they serve as a key function of ensuring our society running on the right track. Obviously, these regulations define the borders between the right and the wrong, the social ethics and day-to-day conduct standards, all of which can instruct and regulate citizens to act and think in a lawful, polite and safe way. Otherwise, the ignorance of these regulations, or so-called “an absolute freedom”, will trap our society into chaos and even malfunction. For example, if the traffic laws were disrespected, it is expected that all streets and highways will be full of congestions and car crashes caused by wrongdoings in driving like blind over speed or overtaking. Similarly, if the criminal law were absent, then there will be no concern of punishments for committing crimes. Consequently, illegal activities including thefts, robberies, arson, rapes, vandalism and murders will be overwhelming, which will not only place the poverties and lives of the public in the danger, but also destroy today’s civilization in a long term. However, there is always a justification that people should be allowed to freely question and topple those unfair laws that are the barriers of democracy development. In history, the typical example is the slavery law in America that defined African-Americans as second-class citizens and deprived their rights of public education, health care and vote. If this evil law were just followed, instead of being eradicated through the pursuit of human freedom, we now can predict clearly that current the community of America would be still full of inequity, discrimination, and massive social disorder caused by conflicts between the black and white. All in all, I agree that it is very necessary to limit the freedom of the public by confining their behaviors in the bounds of social regulation and laws, which is the pre-condition of social democracy and stability. However, when it comes to unjust laws, the public should have the freedom to eliminate them. (392 words)
